Unable to get a quality big man in the draft, Alaska opted to take in its former stalwart to strengthen its young frontline to be more competitive in the coming season. The Aces were lucky to have their former stalwart available and the 33-year old center is more than happy to be back to the team that drafted him 13 years ago.

Juinio spent his first seven seasons with the Uytengsu franchise and was one of the cornerstones in the team’s successful run in 90s including the rarer grandslam in 1996. But he was traded to Pop Cola (now Coke) and played almost five seasons before he was transferred to Talk N Text where his role and minutes became very limited. Last season, the former University of the Philippine standout averaged career-lows 1.6 points and 1.5 rebounds. The Aces know that Juinio can still contribute to their campaign, the reason why they gave him another chance to prove himself in the league.
